An excellent display today with some superb bowling up front by Ethan, Ewan, Rohit and Jacob, backed up with excellent work in the field.

A good start from messrs Ethan and Ewan kept us in the game, with many a false shot and streaky run scored but alas with no reward.

Our first breakthrough came from Jacob Lee reacting quickly at mid-wicket to throw accurately to the keeper after a spell of good bowling pressure.

The other opener however, proved to be a tricky customer, who possessed a good eye and a somewhat "Park" style of cricket, despite Jacob Lee causing him him some considerable trouble at times..

But after the drinks break, Ethan prised him out with a short ball closer to the body, sending the ball to long off, where Rohit stayed cool and composed to take the catch on the boundary.

After that we felt that we had them by the scruff of the neck. Further pressure ensued with Rohit mixing it up and prizing 2 more wickets and squeezing the run rate.

Hemant Patel replaced Jacob Lee from the pavilion end and a change of pace against the lower order proved somewhat fruitful. With a mixture of spin, cutters and teasing swing, Hem returned figures of 8.4-3-29-3.

This was backed up with Ewan finding some rhythm from the top end culminating in a clinical removal of an opposition batters off stump.

All bowled out for 150 after 36.4 overs. Job half done.

With over 50 overs to complete the task, we made a slow and steady start, before Jacob Lee (40) and Dave Steggles (18) started to ease into the game.

After losing Jacob after a well crafted 40, Rohit Chopra entered the fray to up the intensity. A nice partnership with Hassan Nawaz was established with Rohit combining lusty hitting and well placed shots to take the game away from Water Orton and earned Rohit a well earned 50.

Although Mr C departed promptly on 50 ,Jason Dyche and Ethan Walcott saw us over the line with approximately 15 overs to spare.

Walmley away next week....
