Limiting them to 186 seemed like a really good outcome after their two opening batters set them up nicely. Sam Little bowled well up the hill and got his reward with the first off his two wickets, a good catch by Jey at long off and the their partnership was broken. From that point onwards we restricted their scoring well. Most notable bowling performance was from Arjuna Rao taking a five-fer, well done Arjuna! Harry Matthews also helped out with a couple.
Our exploits with bat however....a combination of bad shots and bad decisions was our downfall. After the openers fell, so did the wickets. Asim did well to steady the ship a little but two pretty quick wickets fell before Andy Neal started to settle things down again. Then step up Dan Wright who smashed a few out of the park and got a really nice unbeaten 56 to bring some respectability to our total. UItimately though he ran out of partners and we fell short of the total. 4 ducks in the batting order is not going to help win many matches.
We move on to Olton next week who sit right below us in the table so another challenge for us to overcome. Improving the batting partnerships needs to be our focus and we should get back on track.
Onwards and upwards for the mighty 3's.
