Marking the 175th Anniversary season, Sutton Coldfield 2nd Xl played there opening game against Nuneaton 2nd Xl at home.

After winning the toss Sutton CC elected to bowl first on a damp wicket.

Martin Ball and Jack Reidy opened the bowling and started well. After 4.2 overs Sutton Coldfield broke through with Martin Ball dismissing the opening batsman. After the power play the captain Nas Ali came on to bowl and got a wicket dismissing there number 3 batsman. Nuneaton had a good partnership with R Field and L Topp.

L Topp managed to get to 61 as he started to run out of partners, Jack Reidy dismissed him.

Martin Ball came back on claiming a hat trick in his second spell, Nuneaton were bowled out for 153 of 44.2 overs.

Sutton went into chasing a total of 154 to win. Nuneaton's opening bowlers had other ideas bowling through 10 overs a piece, Sutton were 37-3. Nathan Lawrence however played some superb shots but seemed to keep losing partners, youngster Oliver Gray Nimmo was next to depart at 62-4. However Regan Beamish played a mature innings and steadied the ship with Nathan and got Sutton to 125-5. George Dyche came in and got 16 not out, a exceptional and timed innings by Nathan Lawrence 61*, consisted of 4 boundaries and 2 maximums.
