1st XI win against Attock set some new records in our 175th year according to in house historian Peter Bell !

Having lost the toss, Sutton were somewhat surprisingly put into bat on a used surface. After losing a couple of early wickets Nathan Lawrence and Lee Thomason built a solid platform which allowed Raul Ram (95) and Aaron Thomason (114) to come together and bat magnificently for a partnership of 203! Both players timed their innings incredibly well, with Sutton adding 114 runs in the last 9 overs.

In response Sutton’s bowling was too strong for Attock who limped to 103 all out thanks to some excellent bowling from all of the attack. Special mention to Jacob Squire-Wood who returned great figures of 4-44.

Overall a fairly faultless performance and great to win 2 games on the bounce. We travel to Olton on Saturday and hope to continue this good form.

In addition to the report - please see the following from Peter Bell, we believe this result to have broken a few records:

1. Is 314-6 the highest score ever recorded by SCCC?. At Rectory Park yes

2. Is winning margin of 211 our highest ever? Yes

3. Is the 5th wicket partnership between Raul Ram and Aaron Thomason of 203 a record for that wicket? yes

However on the factual side of the records I hold, batting at Rectory Park has never produced very high scores. In the pre WW2 the highest score was a partnership of 200 between N F Prosser 100 not out and E H Walters 87 not out but that was away at Stratford in 1938 by the Club's 1st Xl.

The highest home partnership was against Stratford for a 2nd wicket in 1978 of 217 between M Dixon 101 not out and B K Gardom 105 not out The highest away game partnership was for a 3rd wicket AGAINST Harborne in 2017 of 280 between L Thomason 202 not out and T Eustas 127 not out The highest score by a Sutton team with 411 in a 50 over game.
The previous highest 5th Wicket partnership was in 1938 of 200 runs away at Stratford between N F Prosser100 not out and E H Walters with 87 not out,

To the best of my knowledge 211 is the highest win by the 1st team. The previous best was against Harborne by 192 runs in the ABOVE REFERRED TO GAME .

The answer to your 3 questions above was yes to all 3
