Sutton lose out to Moseley in a wet and windy encounter

On a very wet and windy morning at Rectory Park, following the end of season celebrations, the U17 team took on Moseley in the Warwickshire T20 Blast Semi Final.
Sutton put a Moseley team with several Warwickshire U18 players into bat.
An early wicket from skipper Ewan Hay, bowing the county opener set the tone, excellent in the field Sutton pressed on with 2 more quick wickets from Harry Baker, who nearly competed a hattrick.
In the field, led by Gus Lea behind the stumps, Marco Thornton, Harry Matthews, Henry Eustace, Tom Dudley and Dan Wright all committed 100%
Moseley kept the scoreboard ticking over very well and recovered from from 40-3 to a final position of 170-6.
With the bat the pressure of the inbound rain storm meant SCCC had to achieve a minimum strike rate of 8.6, falling a fraction short despite some great hitting from Dylan Jones, Sam Little and Ewan Hay.
SCCC made it to 124-8 before the heavens opened and closed the 2025 season.
Well done to a great team of promising players.
Thanks also to the team of volunteers who helped out in the morning and to DJ Haines who kept us all entertained
