Home vs Walmley
Sutton won the toss and elected to field on what would prove to be a very good batting wicket. Despite a couple of early wickets from both Felix Haines and Jacob Squire-Wood, and reducing walmley to 23-2, they managed to put together a strong partnership to frustrate us in the field. This coupled with some late hitting and some very below par fielding on our part saw Walmley end on what looked like a very strong total of 287-5 from their 50 overs.
Our innings started excellently thanks to Amir Shabir (20) and Tom Eustace who played terrifically for 57. This set a great platform for the magnificent innings that was to follow from Lee Thomason who timed his knock to perfection with 102 not out from just 92 balls, and managing to see us home with 11 balls to spare.
A great way for us to bounce back from the disappointment of last week and hopefully something to build on in the coming weeks.
